In August 2020, Apollo Infrastructure Funds (managed by Apollo Global Management) announced a structured investment in US Wind Inc., committing up to USD 265 million through a combination of convertible debt and equity to acquire an equity stake in US Wind and fund development and construction costs of the Maryland offshore wind project. US Wind holds a BOEM lease of approximately 80,000 acres off the Maryland coast (originally sized for 1.3 GW, later expanded via additional leases toward 2.2 GW / MarWin + Momentum Wind phasing). US Wind is majority-owned by Renexia SpA, a subsidiary of Toto Holding SpA. Apollo subsequently became a minority equity holder alongside Renexia.
