Masdar and Iberdrola announced a co-investment in East Anglia THREE under their EUR 15bn strategic partnership signed December 2023. Masdar acquired a 50% stake from ScottishPower Renewables (Iberdrola's UK subsidiary). The EUR 5.2bn figure widely cited refers to total project capex, not equity consideration for the 50% stake; equity deal value was not publicly disclosed separately. Project financing of GBP 3.6bn (EUR ~4.1bn) reached financial close in July 2025 with 23 banks and EIFO. Construction underway; targeted commissioning Q4 2026. FY2025 accounts disclose only accounting effects of the July 2025 completion: 'a capital loss of EUR 126 million' on deconsolidation plus EUR 277m hedge-discontinuation finance income.
