In April 2019, a Japanese consortium led by Sojitz Corporation agreed to acquire a 27% stake in Yunlin Holding GmbH (the owner of the 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind farm in Taiwan) from wpd. The consortium was established through Starwind Offshore GmbH (a German holding company) and comprised: Sojitz Corporation, JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation (now Eneos), The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc., Chudenko Corporation, and Shikoku Electric Power Co., Inc. The stake acquisition was expected to close in May 2019. This farmdown preceded the project's financial close (NT$94 billion / EUR ~2.7 billion in project financing) achieved in May-June 2019 from a consortium of 19 banks and three ECAs. Post-transaction: wpd 73%, Sojitz consortium 27%. Transaction value was not publicly disclosed. Data confidence: MEDIUM — stake percentage confirmed; deal value undisclosed.

In December 2019, EGCO Group's wholly-owned subsidiary Greenwing Energy B.V. signed a share purchase agreement to acquire a 25% ownership interest in Yunlin Holding GmbH from wpd. The transaction completed on 17 April 2020. EGCO Group is Thailand's state-linked electricity generator (EGAT-affiliated). This farmdown brought the first non-Japanese / non-German institutional partner into the Yunlin project. Post-transaction: wpd 48%, Sojitz consortium 27%, EGCO 25%. The project financing (NT$94bn / EUR ~2.7bn) had been closed in May-June 2019 ahead of this transaction. The project was at pre-FID/early construction stage. Transaction value was not publicly disclosed. Data confidence: MEDIUM — stake percentage confirmed; deal value undisclosed.

On 29 April 2021, Total (now TotalEnergies) announced an agreement with wpd to acquire a 23% interest in Yunlin Holding GmbH, the owner of the 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind farm. The consideration was agreed as wpd's share of past costs attributable to the 23% interest — i.e., a cost-basis farmdown. The exact monetary value was not disclosed. Post-transaction: wpd 25%, Sojitz consortium 27%, EGCO 25%, TotalEnergies 23%. Total had been seeking offshore wind entry points in Asia as part of its renewables strategy. The project was under construction at this stage. Financial restructuring of the project was agreed in 2023 to address construction delays (turbine delivery delays, Covid-related disruptions). Data confidence: MEDIUM — stake percentage confirmed; deal value explicitly stated as cost-basis; exact amount undisclosed.

In May 2022, Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) signed a definitive agreement with wpd AG to acquire 100% of wpd offshore, the offshore wind division of the German developer, for an undisclosed sum. The transaction closed on 15 September 2022. GIP subsequently rebranded the acquired entity as Skyborn Renewables. The acquisition transferred wpd's ~25% stake in Yunlin Holding GmbH (along with wpd offshore's other assets: offshore wind projects in Germany, France, Taiwan, and a global pipeline of 30+ GW). This is a corporate-level portfolio acquisition — not a direct project-level stake transfer in Yunlin alone. Yunlin's ownership composition post-acquisition: Skyborn (formerly wpd) 25%, Sojitz consortium 27%, EGCO 25%, TotalEnergies 23%. Skyborn assumed wpd's role as project manager. The GIP/wpd corporate deal value is undisclosed; per-project value not calculable. Data confidence: LOW — corporate deal across a multi-GW portfolio; Yunlin value cannot be isolated.
