Ocean Winds was formed as a 50/50 JV between EDP Renewables (EDPR) and ENGIE to combine their offshore wind assets globally. The JV was announced in 2019 and became operational in mid-2020 following regulatory approvals. The BC-Wind project in Poland (sites B and C) was contributed into Ocean Winds as part of EDPR/ENGIE's combined portfolio (5.5 GW total including 1.5 GW under construction and 4.0 GW under development). No specific financial terms were disclosed for the BC-Wind project specifically. The project had received location permits in 2012 (site B) and 2013 (site C). CfD subsequently awarded June 2021 (PLN 319.60/MWh, 369.5 MW). Financial close for EUR ~2 billion project financing achieved December 2025; construction commenced December 2025; first power expected 2028. In December 2020, Tauron (Polish state utility) signed a 2-year cooperation agreement with Ocean Winds under which Tauron received 50% of Ocean Winds' Polish project companies in exchange for Ocean Winds acquiring 50% of Tauron's Baltic Sea permit companies — however, this arrangement appears to have been unwound before financial close (Ocean Winds is described as 100% owner of BC-Wind at FC). No Tauron exit transaction has been publicly announced or valued.
