AGNES S.r.l. (a Ravenna-based offshore wind developer), Saipem S.p.A. (the offshore engineering and construction group), and Qintx Holding (formerly QINT'X, Italian renewable energy developer) formalised a joint venture in July 2022 to co-develop the AGNES Romagna offshore energy hub in the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna. The hub comprises Agnes Romagna 1 (200 MW) and Agnes Romagna 2 (400 MW), totalling 600 MW of fixed-bottom offshore wind, plus integrated floating solar (100 MWp), power-to-hydrogen, and battery storage elements. Each of the three partners holds a 33.33% stake. An initial MOU between AGNES/Qintx and Saipem was reported in 2020; the formal JV agreement and concession application were submitted in 2022. Deal value undisclosed. Italy's offshore wind regulatory framework (PNIEC, maritime concession procedures) was still being established at this time; the project is in early development/ planning stage.
