Parkwind NV and ESB (Electricity Supply Board, Ireland's state energy company) announced a 50/50 joint venture agreement on 22 January 2019 to co-develop the Oriel offshore wind farm (up to 375 MW) and the neighbouring Clogherhead project off the Louth coast. Under the deal, ESB would acquire up to a 35% stake in Oriel (which Parkwind had originally entered in 2017), with the companies also exchanging stakes in Clogherhead. The JV structure settled at an effective 50/50 co-development arrangement for Oriel. ESB brought its Clogherhead foreshore licence rights; Parkwind brought the Oriel development platform. Deal value undisclosed. Project was at early development stage. Note: Parkwind was subsequently acquired by JERA in 2023 (see companion record below).

JERA Co., Inc. acquired 100% of the shares of Parkwind NV from Virya Energy NV, announced 22 March 2023 and closed 26 July 2023. The Parkwind platform transaction implied an equity value of approximately EUR 1.55 billion for the entire Parkwind portfolio, including four operational Belgian projects (771 MW combined), Arcadis Ost 1 in Germany (257 MW), and a 4.5+ GW development pipeline spanning Belgium, Germany, Ireland and other markets. The Oriel and Irish pipeline assets formed only a fraction of the total portfolio value. The portfolio-level record is in Batch 3 (JERA/Parkwind). Following the acquisition, Parkwind became wholly owned by JERA and rebranded as part of JERA Nex. ESB's 50% JV interest in Oriel was unaffected by the transaction.
